“Refuge” offers multiple natural hazard modelling, built on strong scientific research and capability. “Refuge” delivers a better understanding for future planning of how to maximise lives saved and minimise asset damage from threats of bushfires, flooding and cyclones, making both planning (preventative) and protecting (responsive) preparedness clearer in an increasingly changing and variable climate.
“Refuge” presents opportunities for unified planning and protecting practices towards maximising lives saved and minimising property damage from threats of natural hazards.
Our partner on this project is CSIRO’s Data61.
Reduces risks around decision making, with more specifics and offering practical information
Applies locale specific information and produces standardised datasets for compatibility
Delivers visual demonstrations of simulations towards greater awareness and comprehension
Offers collective information on bushfires, flooding and cyclones presenting opportunities for unified planning and protecting practices
Supports outcomes from Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements (2020)
NSW Bushfire Commercialisation Fund is supporting the commercialisation of “Refuge”
The Bushfire Commercialisation Fund (BCF) is a NSW Government competitive development and commercialisation program run by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer. The BCF aims to deliver significant social, economic and environmental benefits to NSW by providing financial support for the development of new and innovative devices and systems to accelerate the commercialisation and adoption of bushfire technologies and services in NSW.
